Series about re-homing

holeI don’t believe most people in the US adopt internationally or anywhere for that matter without having the best intentions of loving the child and providing a healthy, happy forever home. But a series of articles by Reuters uncovers a big problem in the adoption world in the US and possibly outside of it.

The harsh reality is that sometimes adoptions do not work and parents place their adopted children in another home. This is called rehoming. The Reuters’ investigation revealed a myriad or problems with the rehoming system in the US, the most serious being there are no laws governing this rehoming process. Anyone with a Power of Attorney drawn up and take a child from an adoptive parent and raise them as their own.
