Is it really accessible?

A recent survey in New Mobility Magazine asked its readers what handicap accessible features were the most important to them during their hotel stay. The top three most important:

  • Comfortably using the bathroom
  • Using a roll-in shower
  • Having a bed that is the proper height

Others were concerned with parking, counter heights, having a room close to the elevator, and swimming pool and exercise room access.

On one thing, everyone agrees: Call ahead and talk to staff about what really matters to you. Don’t take a chance on surprises.
